Fasting Can Save Your Life When Done Correctly!
I recently completely a 7 day fast. The first 3.5 days was a dry fast, followed by 3.5 days consuming distilled water. At the end of 7 days I broke the fast. I had for decades believed that a 7 or longer day water or dry fast would help me to achieve the level of health I'd been looking for.
This recent fast gave me a rude
awakening. After resuming eating both raw and cooked foods, I developed acid reflux, severe water retention in my legs, which is a sign of kidney and or heart damage and fat accumulation in my abdomen, which is a sign of high cortisol.
Despite what the inspiring books say on fasting, my experience was mostly a negative one. In hindsight I now believe my fast experience was negative because my adrenals could not handle the experience. I know my adrenals were a factor, because I
did not sleep the entire 7 days. Which is indicative of high cortisol.
In my case it would have been much better for me to have done a juice fast for 7 days with supplements or a 3 day dry or water fast.
Most people do not have my particular adrenal issue, and will do well to fast. However, the length of the fast is key. If you are trying to recover adrenal function, then I would first do a 24 hour saliva hormone test to see what your cortisol and other adrenal hormones levels are throughout the day.
Second I would make sure that you thoroughly cleanse out your intestines prior to a fast. I only advocate the oxygen based intestinal cleansers, if you have diverticulitis or a bowel blockage, because they kill your anerobic microorganism population in your
digestive tract. 85% of the beneficial organisms in your intestines live in a non-oxygenated environment. Consuming an oxygen based intestinal cleanser will disrupt them and kill some of them. Instead I recommend taking a good herbal laxative. The best one I have used throughout 35 years of work is called Ejuva Power
Caps.
Once your intestines are clean, then doing a 3 day water or juice fast would be far wiser for someone trying to recover optimal adrenal function.
On the other side of this fast I have been struggling to gain back my health. In 3 weeks time I have corrected the acid reflux by using Gastro 3 Plus. In 4 weeks time I have improved my kidney and heart health, as my water retention has improved by 85%; by taking Nephro 3 Plus and Cardio 3 Plus.
In
4 weeks time I've improved my adrenal glands and my ability to sleep by taking the adrenal peptide called Glandokort. Glandokort is sold by itself and as part of a trio of peptides found in Polo 3 Plus.
I do not deny the many wonderful results people have had from fasting for 7 days or longer on nothing but water. I just had an experience that was not one of the wonderful success stories. In order that anyone else with adrenal fatigue not have the same experience I did, I feel
it important to share my story.
